Join In The Dance Of The Universe ---- Autumnal Equinox (Updated)

The first time I published this it was 2015. I have revised it for this year's Autumnal Equinox.

Autumnal Equinox 2018

September 22, 2018

Oh the beauty of nature! As the season begins to change, our world takes on a new look, almost as if a master artist has come in and painted the walls of our home. When the days become shorter and the temperature begins to drop, everything in nature starts to shift and morph in a harmonious symphony to stay in balance with the Earth. Those species which are unable to remain in sync wither away and become food for those who will continue on, "Survival of the Fittest". How easily one transitions into the next season depends highly upon two things. The first being preparation and the second is how well they are able to adapt.

If you will take note you will notice that more often than not, whenever we become ill it is usually at the beginning of the season. Why is this? It is mainly because we have not prepared for the upcoming change. Every living thing must prepare. Some preparation is involuntary, like how the coats of animals change colors and become thicker before winter. Other preparations are voluntary, like when squirrels gather nuts, but for some reason most of us humans miss our cue. We do not prepare. We go from season to season with no change, no acknowledgment of what is to come, what gifts await us. To be out of sync with the flow of nature is like swimming against the current. You will waste a lot of time and energy or may even have to go all the way around to get to your destination.

It is my hope that through this blog I can awaken your desire to reconnect with the wonders of nature to have a more fulfilling and prosperous life.

To prepare for any seasonal change one should detox their body and prepare their home. Spring should not be the only time we thoroughly clean our homes. Before the cold nights set in, we should turn our heaters on with the windows open. This allows the dust to burn off while the house is ventilated. Our heavy blankets need to be washed or taken outside and shaken before being put back on the beds. There is much to do. It's time to get started.

Below, I have written the information that this Autumn brings to our world. By utilizing the energies that are available to us, we will get the most out of the coming months.

This year the Autumnal Equinox begins on:

Date: September 22, 2018:

In numerology this date adds up to the number 6.       9+2+2+2+1+8= 24   2+4=6 The number 6 carries the energies of compassion, home, family, relationships of all kinds, obtaining beauty and harmony.

Day of the Week: Saturday ruled by Saturn:

For this year, 2018, Autumn will begin on Saturday. Saturday is ruled by the planet Saturn. Saturn gifts us with the energies of Discipline, Stability, Maturity, Apprenticeship.

Tarot Card:

The Tarot card that represents this energy is the 8 of Pentacles.

"This is a moment of hands on training or of intense study with your career or the magickal arts. Here is an opportunity to immerse yourself in a creative project such as art or writing. Being focused. disciplined, and  diligent with your project, you will put your skills to good use. By combining all of your gifts with hard work, there will be success. This is not a card of fame: this is a card that reminds you how effort, focus and creativity often bring growth, gain, and a sense of accomplishment," The Withes Tarot by Ellen Dugan.

Best Incense to Burn During Autumn:

Cedarwood - " Cedar Wood Incense "

Cedar has been burned for purification and healing rites. The Indigenous Americans and many other ancient societies burned it to remove negative energy before performing rituals. Cedar is also added to "Money" spells to increase their power.

Burning Cedar during meditation will allow you to go deeper, it will heighten your intuition and strengthen your connection to the Divine. Burning it during prayer clears blockages so that your prayers are sent with clarity, which ensures that your answers come quickly.

Foods to Eat During Autumn:

To keep both your physical and spiritual bodies vibrating with the rhythm of the season you MUST eat the foods that are grown and harvested at that time. To get the greatest benefit, eat as much locally grown foods as you possibly can. Here is a list of the foods that are seasonally available in North America.
